How to control weeds in your lawn

Customer Questions: Is this a weed?

fescue seeds in lawn
Fescue seeds, not weeds.

Ever wonder what is going on with your lawn? Email us a picture and most likely we can answer it from pictures. We will gladly share the answers here and on our Facebook Page for all to learn from!

Just recently, a Beavercreek lawn care client emailed this picture, asking what type of weed we were seeing. Here is our response: “That is actually the seed head of your fescue. This time of year, the fescues try to complete their life cycle by propagating the next generation thru their seed formation. Through routine mowing, you are able to keep that from occurring and thus keep your lawn alive and in great shape. The seed heads will stop forming as we go into summer so keep mowing routinely until that happens!”

We look forward to answering your questions too!
