Adult Bagworms
We are reaching the time of year when adult bagworms start breeding and multiplying. As the young bagworms finish building their bags they’ll hang them from the tree and the males will turn into a moth while the females will never leave the bag again.
The male finds the female in her bag through pheromones released by the female. Once they mate the female will lay her eggs inside the bag and literally mummify herself around the eggs where they will stay until the following spring.
Our tree and shrub program is designed to treat for these and other pests that infest your plants year round. If you see these pests on your trees, give us a call and we’ll set up a treatment plan.
